How can I make the Logitech Wingman Formula Force steering wheel work in Vista and 64 bit Windows 7?

• Logitech G5.1 Speakers Windows 7 Professional 64 bit SP1 Logitech MOMO racing force feedback wheel Starting around October of last year one of the Windows automatic updates is interfering with the wheel drivers. The wheel drifts off center and eventually one has no travel to either the left or right. This is a common problem.
• The wheel uses the y axis for both the throttle AND brake pedal, by the way! I hope someone might have an idea:s EDIT: FINALLY FIXED IT. The Logitech Games Software v5.10 from 2010 in the downloads for the 'Logitech Driving force GT' also work for the 'logitech formula vibration feedback wheel'.

I've used my Logitech Wingman Formula Force wheel for more years than I can remember (I definitely had it back when I was playing Viper Racing, though). Sadly, Logitech does not appear to support the wheel in any capacity, even as an analog input device. At this point, I'm looking for any sort of driver that will take input from the device. Download 64-bit drivers for the Saitek R440 from here

Extract the Saitek_R440_Force_Wheel_SD6_64.exe file somewhere (You might need Winrar to extract the *.exe).

Now, you need to find the hardware id for your wheel. Plug everything in, and go to your device manager. You'll see Wingman or something with a yellow ! next to it. Right click it > properties > details tab > select hardware id from the drop down menu.

Now, go to the folder where you extracted the Saitek drivers, in the FF04 folder, open the file SaiFF04.inf

Look for [SAITEK_MODELS.NTamd64] below that there are 2 lines. Paste your hardware id onto the second line after the SAI_USB_Inst,. It will look like this:

All you need to do now, is find your wheel in the device manager, select 'driver update' and point your browser to the folder with the saitek drivers in. The edited .inf file will make windows assume this is the correct driver and install it.

I tested and calibrated this. It works really well
